28-year-old man charged for assault on Ambulance Crew

A MAN has been charged after attempting to punch, kick and bite an ambulance crew in Wimbledon last month.

London Ambulance Service called police for assistance after a patient assaulted an emergency worker whilst being transported to a hospital on September 3.

Danny Light, of Brittany Close, Southampton has been charged with two counts of assault on an emergency worker, criminal damage and for a racially aggravated public order offence.

He was arrested on the scene by officers from local Roads and Transport and taken to a police station.

At the station, Light caused damage to a police vehicle and shouted abuse at a Police Constable amounting to a Racially Aggravated Public Order offence. He was further arrested for both offences.

Light has now been charged for all offences and is due to appear in court later this year.
