Summer fun in Surrey by Thea Crake at Tolworth Girls School

For those wanting to get wet there are numerous options depending on if you want inside or out. We are lucky to have two lidos within our County – one in Hampton court and a larger facility in Guilford with water slides for all ages, kids’ area plus large grass area for families to relax and enjoy the glorious weather. Also, just up the road from the Guildford lido there is the Spectrum where you can experience a wave machine and numerous water slides with rings to go down on.

If swimming isn’t your thing the Spectrum has many other indoor options including bowling, ice skating, soft play and Rock box.

If you have a more daring nature and aren’t afraid of heights, then there are some high rope challenges available at Wild Wood adventure in Guildford or Go Ape at Chessington World of Adventures. But don’t worry there are options for both the younger ones and the older ones who may want to step out of their comfort zone.

For younger kids there are a good selection of parks including Reigate which has a café and a large playground with a pirate ship with sand surrounding and multiple zip lines. Not only this but it also has a skate park and parade of shops which wouldn’t be more than a ten-minute walk. If you want to extend your park trips for a longer walk, then Geo-caching is also available for kids who like a treasure hunt.

Just on the Surrey borders is Liquid Leisure in Windsor which offers inflatable obstacle course but be prepared to get wet as its on a lake. If the inflatables aren’t your thing but still fancy an adrenalin rush, you could choose water skiing, banana boats and wake boarding. For those wanting a rest there is also a beach resort or bar for entertainment.

Another fun activity for all the family is crazy golf. To name a few in Surrey you could venture to the Jurassic Encounter course in New Malden or Jungle Island Adventure in Epsom.

I hope these few ideas helped to inspire you and your family for a fun packed summer ahead, enjoy!
